Ready for some more behind-the-scenes action? In this set of photos, check out a full-fledged patient documentary I directed and produced (and captured some too).

For this project, I had a variety of interview setups with a patient and their family as they shared the troubling complications of a peanut allergy. This family invited us into their beautiful home and told us their story about having to manage their daughter’s allergy: if she came in contact with peanuts, it could be fatal.

With this kind of project, I approach it like a documentary: I sit down with the patients and listen to their trials and tribulations, asking them questions about their disease in hopes that it can build awareness for others who may be suffering too. I also film b-roll of activities the family is able to participate in after utilizing medical treatment, as a way to give context to their experience and how they can live their lives normally today.

At the end of the day, we get a cinematic short-form story that can be shared with others to build awareness on various platforms. I love making these short pieces because I get to elevate patients’ lives and help others gain knowledge.

Call me today if you’d like to capture your patient’s story!
