There are many options aside from Zoom, including in-person and phone solutions
It’s often the case where video messages need to get into the world as soon as possible! Although audiences are used to online video meetings these days, there are instances where higher quality video options are more worth your while.
“Hey Ian, what options do we have aside from Zoom?”
Normally I recommend in-person video capture first, which gives me and my team the opportunity to sit down with the talent and collect a variety of options for a video edit. Being in person can help put the talent at ease as well.
Then you’ve got Zoom, a viable affordable option that can be done quick and dirty. And the pandemic has made Zoom normal for audiences, as the quality has been normalized. Sometimes, options are most limited in this approach due to timing and talent equipment such as an old laptop.
A nice middle ground is the example video: upgrades! With a webcam camera upgrade, a shipped plug-and-play unit, or simply utilizing the talent’s own phone device such as an iPhone, there are many alternatives that are available.
