When viewers are not using headphones, keep them interested in the content with subtitles

80% of Sponsored Content engagement comes from mobile devices, according to LinkedIn Marketing Solutions. This is in line with an increasing number of platforms too!

Think about how you consume data: your viewers are likely scrolling through their feeds without headphones. They are on-the-go and reading posts, likely not ready to take in sound or turn on their speakers.

“Hey Ian, how difficult is it to add subtitles to videos?”

This is something I recommend frequently to my clients to maximize the engagement of their videos. Having subtitles allows viewers to digest the content without sound, increasing the likelihood that they don’t skip over it. You want to capture the attention of your viewer right then and there! Lower thirds are great and animated text is even better! Caption files (typically referred to as SRT files) are also a good option to utilize, which enables you to toggle the subtitles on and off. This can also help on the backend for SEO and word search, ranking your video on a platform and helping it get to the right viewer feeds.

Don’t forget your viewers are readers too. I can help you incorporate text into your video today!
